Spacers/Separators
Separators are tiny elastics placed between your teeth.
They are used to create space between your teeth so the “bands” can be accurately placed.
Your teeth may be sensitive but the discomfort will be gone in a few days.
To relieve any soreness, rinse your mouth with warm salt water and/or take one or two Advil (Ibuprofen).
Please avoid ALL sticky or chewy foods.
Do not try to pull separators out.
Please brush your teeth at least three times a day. Do not floss the teeth that are separated.
If a separator should fall out before your next appointment, please come in 30 minutes early and let the receptionist know so we can replace them to ensure we have adequate space.
